Plunger guides are hex shaped-allowing snug tightening with a hex or crescent wrench-has plenty of gripping surface-no knurls to scratch-you simply can't tighten a round guide as well as a hex.
Steel plunger pin is made from 1038 steel. This has a high tensile strength of 90 to 95 KSI and can also be heat-treated for even greater strength.
